Slow over scroll.
We choose books that reward a Sunday afternoon over an algorithm's minute. Every title on our shelf has been read cover-to-cover by a human before it is offered to you.

Brave over safe.
We buy debut voices, small-press translations, essays that argue with the year they were born into. There is no bestseller-list algorithm here — only a reader with an opinion.

One human, one shelf.
The store is small on purpose. Two people, one back room, a warm lamp and a kettle. Every book you buy sends a note to the person who chose it.

Made to be sent.
Orders ship in kraft paper with wax-sealed twine and a hand-written card. We would rather send fewer, better parcels than more of anything.
